Episode 016 Are You Too Busy?

Do you feel too busy?

I’m trying something a little different today, beginning and ending with the coaching questions and talking through them in the episode. I’m hoping to encourage growth and introspection that leads you to walk away with something actionable.

Are you constantly feeling too busy?
If you take a step back and look at your life – the commitments you have, where you actually spend your time on a daily basis – where do you think that feeling of busyness comes from?
What’s one thing you can do today to address that busy feeling in a helpful way?

Are you constantly feeling too busy?
Or rushed, or like time is flying by, like there’s too much to do in a day.
[If you can’t relate to this feeling this episode isn’t for you… Perhaps check out the episodes focused on purpose.]

If you take a step back and look at your life – the commitments you have, where you actually spend your time on a daily basis – where do you think that feeling of busyness comes from?
Are there certain things that are important to you that aren’t getting done?
Or ways you’d like to be spending your time that you never seem to get to?
Something else?
Are there projects you’d like to address that you haven’t started or aren’t making progress on?
Are you not getting enough sleep?
Do you have friends you want to keep up with that you aren’t calling?
Or self-care practices that have fallen by the wayside?
Dig deep and determine where that feeling of busyness is primarily coming from; name those areas specifically.

Feelings can be tricky. A feeling of being “too busy” doesn’t necessarily mean you’re way too busy, but it certainly reveals at minimum the presence of some type of imbalance that needs to be addressed in your life.

There’s a difference between feelings and reality. Make sure you’re paying attention to reality rather than allowing your feelings to dictate the reality you live into.
Realize you have choices and are making choices every day.

What’s one thing you can do today to address that busy feeling in a helpful way?
This is an important question that can be easy to push to the side because you can’t completely change your reality in a single day. Remember! We’re not trying to get from 0 to 10, we’re trying to move one step, or one half step, closer to where you’d like to go.
Really get creative and brainstorm here.
Most people should be able to name something small that would begin to address the busyness you’re feeling.
Every big project, any big change, isn’t accomplished all at once, but one step at a time. So take one step.
